This course focuses on the skills and knowledge required to analyze, maintain, and troubleshoot automotive engine performance systems. Students will learn how fuel, ignition, air intake, emission control, and electronic management systems affect engine operation. Emphasis is placed on engine performance diagnostics, use of specialized tools and equipment, electronic control systems, and emission compliance. Through a combination of classroom theory and hands-on shop practice, students develop the ability to efficiently identify and repair engine performance problems to ensure vehicles run smoothly and efficiently.
